Great news for Reining Youths all over Europe!

The committee set up at the 2017 European Summit to promote youth riders in Europe has now received funding (from the affiliate countries and matched by the Reining Horse Foundation) to enable the following Year End Jackets to be awarded to the European Youth.
EUROPEAN YOUTH TOP TEN JACKETS


We have now confirmed funding to allow recognition of the Top 10 Youths in Europe.
1. Entry criteria as per the NRHA Handbook.
2. Points will be awarded as per the Youth points in the NRHA Handbook.
3. Points may be obtained in any European Country.
4. Year will run from January 1 to December 31
5. To Be awarded on and horse/rider combination
6. Youth must be a member of their home country’s affiliate
7. European Top 10 Jackets will be awarded in Age groups 13 and under and 14-18 years
8. No youth in the European top 10 in their relevant age group (13 and under or 14-18) is eligible to win the individual Affiliate Unrestricted youth Hipoint award.
9. If at the year-end a tie the rider winning their last point earliest will be deemed the winner
The aim will be to have the jackets available to collect hopefully by the European Futurity.
Please also encourage shows and affiliates to promote the RHF as they have kindly agreed to match up to $3600 for at least the next 3 years towards our European Youth Awards.

UNRESTRICTED YOUTH AFFILIATE COUNTRY HIPOINT – JACKET 
1. Entry criteria as per NRHA Rule book – can ride their own or a non family owned horse but owner must be an NRHA current member.
2. Youth must be an NRHA Member and a member of their own Country’s Affiliate
3. Points (as per regular youth scale) on rider regardless of horse ridden
4. If riding more than one horse in a class only the highest placed horse’s points count
5. Points can be won in any country does not have to be home country
6. Qualifying year runs from January 1 to December 31
7. Each Affiliate country is responsible for collating the points and reporting them through to Euro Youth Committee nominated member by January 15 of the following year.
8. Show secretaries to send results to each their Country’s nominated co-ordinator
9. No youth in the European top 10 in their relevant age group (13 and under or 14-18) is eligible to win the Unrestricted youth Hipoint award.
10. If at the year-end a tie the rider winning their last point earliest will be deemed the winner
This is an opportunity for the youth of each affiliate Country to compete against each other within their own affiliate and vie for the Country’s Hipoint Jacket.

Please will all countries encourage their shows to include an Unrestricted Youth class, with a nominal entry fee, it can run concurrent with the regular youth classes and regular youth riders can run in both the unrestricted youth and their age group youth class if they so want. 

The aim will be to have the information for the jackets for each country to be available to collect hopefully by the European Futurity.
